On Saturday 7th March, St Leonard’s Church in Eynsham will play host to an afternoon of wonderful music as the Freeland Orchestra joins forces with the West Oxfordshire Clarinets. Starting at 3:30 pm, the concert offers a varied and accessible programme perfect for a weekend treat.
The Freeland Orchestra will be performing two pillars of the classical repertoire: Beethoven’s dramatic Prometheus Overture and Haydn’s grand Symphony No. 104. Adding a different texture to the afternoon, the West Oxfordshire Clarinets (a full clarinet choir) will perform the sparkling Die Fledermaus Overture by Strauss. A particular highlight will be a work by Catozzi, which features the rare and impressive contrabass clarinet—an instrument not often seen or heard solo!
Whether you are a regular concert-goer or simply want to enjoy some live music in a beautiful local setting, you are warmly invited to attend.
