Ensemble 1015 Chamber Music Concert
Ensemble 1051 is a chamber music group of seven renowned instrumentalists who specialise in historical performance on period instruments. They will be playing a programme of music written for oboes and bassoons by baroque composers of the late 17th and early 18th centuries. Central to the concert will be a premiere performance of JS Bach’s 6th Brandenburg Concerto arranged by Oscar Lyons for two oboes and four bassoons with harpsichord continuo. Other pieces will include sonatas by JF Fasch, GP Telemann and JD Heinichen; two duets for bass instruments by Bodin de Boismortier and F Couperin and a performance of a concerto for four bassoons entitled Le Phenix by Michel Corette.
