Learn to paint with oils. 6-week painting course for adults of mixed abilities.
If you have always wanted to paint in oils but never tried or if you are looking to develop your skills, especially painting landscapes and seascapes in a loose, impressionist style, this is definitely the course for you. Melanie Cambridge has been teaching for over 30 years, particularly with oils. Her approach combines structured lessons to cover the key techniques such as colour mixing, composition, brushwork, glazing, impasto work but also are subject based, so you will learn how to paint trees, skies, water, the sea, figures, boats etc. alongside specific demonstrations showing you step by step how to master a particular technique or subject.
All of Melanie's classes in Banstead have a maximum of 8 students so you will receive plenty of one-to-one support as you learn.
Materials are not included but a full list will be provided. Alternatively if you are new to this medium, oil paints can be supplied at an additional cost. Low odour solvent is provided for everyone so fumes can be kept to an absolute minimum.
