Newbury care home invites local community to Friendship Café

A care home in Newbury is welcoming the local community to its café to build new friendships with their neighbours.

Every 4th Friday of the month, from 10.30am–12.30pm, Care UK’s Newbury Grove, on London Road opens its doors to older people in the community to enjoy a relaxed, friendly get-together and the chance to make new friendships, with the next session on Friday 23rd January.

During the sessions, attendees will have the opportunity to take part in a host of activities, including arts and crafts, and learn new skills over a hot drink and a tasty treat.

Adarsh Kurian, General Manager at Newbury Grove, said: “At Newbury Grove, we are dedicated to making a positive difference in our community, and we believe no one should ever feel alone.

“Creating strong support networks is vital, and our Friendship Café is designed to do just that – offering a welcoming space where people can relax, connect, and enjoy each other’s company.

We’re excited to open our doors, meet new faces, and share conversations over a cup of tea and a slice of cake.”

Newbury Grove has been designed to deliver the very best standards of care and to enable residents to lead active and fulfilling lives. The home provides full-time residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care, and incorporates plenty of space for leisure activities and hobbies, with facilities including its own cinema, hair salon and pub.
