Join Vulcan XL426 as the sun sets at London Southend Airport on Saturday 16 May for its 2026 Vulcan Twilight Taxi-Run.
The Vulcan Restoration Trust's exclusive visitors enclosure gives uninterrupted views across the airport, ideal for the Vulcan enthusiast and photographers.
XL426 will carry out two taxi-runs, the second pass at high-speed, as the sun dips below the horizon. The Vulcan will then taxi back to shut down engines in front of the enclosure.
Arrive early to soak up the atmosphere, view the hangar displays and exhibits and watch XL426 being prepared for the evening's event.
Visitors can arrive by bus or train. London Southend Airport station is approximately 15-20 minutes' walk away and is served by frequent trains on the London Liverpool Street to Southend Victoria line.
Free car parking will be available close to the Vulcan. Please follow the ‘Vulcan Open Day’ direction signs after entering the airport.
We have a disabled car park situated next to the event entrance. On arrival, please let our car park volunteers know that you require disabled parking and they will direct you towards the disabled car park or to other parking close to the entrance.
Teas, coffees and refreshments will be on sale throughout the evening and there will be a licensed bar.
Children under the age of 6 cannot be admitted, sorry. Under-16s must have a ticket and must be accompanied by an Adult ticket holder.
Sorry - no animals, with the exception of assistance dogs, can be admitted to the event.
This is a fundraising event organised to benefit the Vulcan Restoration Trust.
