Ilmington is an ancient hillside Cotswold village 2 miles from the Fosse Way. Start at Ilmington Manor (next to the Red Lion Pub); wander the 3 acre gardens with many roses, much topiary and a fish pond. Next, go up Grump Street, above the Village Hall, to Ravenscrofts large, sculpture-filled garden with sloping vistas commanding the hilltop. Walk to nearby Frog Lane to view Puddocks, Frog Orchard's and The Studio's delightful gardens then down, via Old Fox House at the bottom of Foxcote Hill, to the Bevington's many-chambered cottage garden at the bottom of Valanders Lane. Finally visit the charming cottage gardens surrounding Meadow View and the large terraced garden of The Dower House in Back Street, overlooking the Manor ponds and Berry Orchard.
