Lower Clapton Gardens - Open Garden for NGS
Lower Clapton is an area of mid-Victorian terraces sloping down to the River Lea. These gardens reflect their owners tastes and interests. 75 Mayola Road has a woodland walk, a vegetable patch and Caribbean style shed. 10 Almack Road is a long garden with architectural plants like trachycarpus palms and cordylines, a large pond and much Yorkstone and London brick. Next door at No. 8 is a similar space but divided into two rooms, one cool and peaceful the other with hot colours, succulents and greenhouse.
