Tucked away from the bustle of Wood Green, near Alexandra Palace, a row of historic railway cottages takes visitors back in time. Five front gardens, as featured on Gardeners' World in March 2025, will open to the public. At No. 2, clipped hedges contrast with climbing roses, honeysuckle, abutilon, grasses, ferns, and a fig tree. No. 14 is an informal, organic, bee-friendly haven, planted with fragrant herbs, flowers, and shrubs. No. 22 is nurtured by the grandson of the original railway worker resident, a lovely place to sit, relax, and enjoy the varied planting. By contrast, 24A is a potager style cottage garden, with raised beds overflowing with vegetables and flowers. Home-made cakes and soft drinks will be on sale, along with the chance to browse our popular plant stall.
