Five very different town gardens open under the banner of Monmouth Gardens. The Nelson Garden dates back to Roman times, and as the name suggests has links with Lord Nelson. St Johns, in Glendower St is a charming walled garden which has undergone extensive restoration with a sunken central lawn and deep herbaceous borders. Entrance to both these gardens is via Chippenham Fields. Cornwall House has a beautiful walled garden and productive kitchen garden dating from the C17. North Parade House is a hidden gem with a surprisingly large and secluded walled garden with mature specimen trees, herbaceous borders and a kitchen garden. The Gables is a terraced garden surrounding a beautiful Arts and Crafts house.
