Presented by Maidenhead Music Society.
This programme explores the 18th century notion of “Hausmusik” — bringing people together in intimate settings to entertain and explore — and looks at ways in which this idea has developed over the centuries to today. From young Mendelssohn to jazz, this concert has something for everyone.
The programme includes:
Mendelssohn - trio for violin, viola and piano
Waldo Warner - a baroque dance suite with 20th century moments
Julia Simpson - ‘Curious Music’ inspired by RL Stevenson mixing innocent children’s songs with alternate realities
Shostakovich - trios
Valerie Capers - Portraits of Jazz
