The tradition of the Carnival goes back over 50 years. It takes place every second year on the first
Saturday in July. This date suits the school term and helps ensure local schools can join in.
The Carnival has traditionally started with the Grand Parade followed by the Carnival Fete on the
Morgan Recreation ground. In the week that follows, several activities are organised, some are fundraisers for the Carnival and others are considered non-commercial and of community benefit, e.g. the Flower Festival and the Festival of the Teapot.
It great fun and attracts large crowds.
