This concert features works by Vaughan Williams, JS Bach, and American composer Missy Mazzoli.
In Vaughan Williams’ Te Deum in G, the Waverley Singers will be accompanied by Philip Scriven on the organ, and violinist Elizabeth Cooney will join them for the same composer’s ‘The Lark Ascending’ in Paul Drayton’s choral arrangement.
In addition, Ms Cooney will perform two contrasting works: Bach’s Violin Sonata No. 1 in G minor, and Mazzoli’s ‘Vespers for Violin and Electronics’.
The concert ends with Vaughan Williams’s ‘Mass in G Minor’, a work of austere beauty well suited to Guildford Cathedral’s expansive acoustic.
Oakleaf, based in Guildford, is the supported charity.
