CPSO Spring 2026 Concert Rhythm and Dance
We celebrate ‘Rhythm and Dance’ with an exhilarating sequence of pieces showcased by members of Peterborough’s Tu Danse Studios.
Copland’s barnstorming Four Dance Episodes from his ballet Rodeo followed by waltzes, polkas and tangos courtesy of Shostakovitch, Tchaikovsky, Khachaturian, Johann Strauss and Piazzolla along with Spanish dances from Bizet’s Carmen. These are framed by orchestral favourites including Strauss’s Roses from the South, Brahms’ Hungarian Dances and Holst’s St Paul’s Suite and the ever-popular foot-tapping work by Marquez La Conga del Fuego Nuevo.
Well-known tunes from stage, television, radio and cinema abound!
