A care home in Stockport is inviting the community to step back in time to a golden era.
On Wednesday 25th February from 2.30pm-4pm, the team at Care UK’s Ladybrook Manor on Dairyground Road will be bringing the nostalgia of the roaring 20s to Bramhall for an afternoon of entertainment, history and laughter.
The event will kick off with a performance by the Stockport Jazz Band, who will play classics from the era to set the tone for the afternoon.
Guests will be able to take part in activity sessions with the residents, such as creating 1920s-style headpieces to take home and enjoying an interactive trivia quiz.
Visitors will also be treated to a themed lunch, which includes devilled eggs, chicken à la king and pineapple upside-down cake specially made by the home’s talented head chef, alongside a spread of party food.
Ladybrook Manor provides full-time residential and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care. Designed to enable residents to lead active and rewarding lives, while also promoting independence, the home has its own couple’s suites, café and hair and beauty salon. The building is configured into a series of neighbourhoods to facilitate the creation of close-knit communities and encourage social interaction among the residents.
