THE CHURCHFITTERS (on tour from France)
The Churchfitters are not only consummate and talented musicians, they are great entertainers whose sense of fun and joie de vivre permeates everything they do. They have appeared several times at Grayshott Folk Club before and at different times of the year, performing both their Summer and Christmas shows. A return visit is long overdue.
Prepare to be amazed as Chris turns from being a Fiddle maestro to playing a Wood Saw, Boris takes out another of his home-made, wacky Banjos or Bass Guitars. Can you spot what he has used to make them? Meanwhile, Rosie strides the Stage like she was born to it and lends every song her wonderful vocals and musical accompaniment on a whole range of instruments. Rosie is a one-woman orchestra.
”Quirky, colourful and completely captivating, The Churchfitters push the boundaries of Folk with a dazzling array of instruments-think petrol tanks, hubcaps, saws and even a saucepan dulcimer-alongside fiddle, banjo and sublime vocals.
Their genre-busting sound, known as ”Folk Unlimited”, is uplifting, inventive and always unforgettable”
Joe Broughton (Birmingham Conservatoire, Urban Folk Quartet)
