Care UK’s Bailey Lodge will be welcoming the local community – along with a VIP visitor – to Radwinter Road on Wednesday 18th March from 2-4pm to join the celebrations.
With the first residents having moved into Bailey Lodge in February, everyone at the home is now gearing up to celebrate its official opening. Cutting the ribbon will be Mayor of Saffron Walden, Councillor Jubeyuir Ahmed.
On arrival, guests will be met by the team in the home’s main reception area, where they can enjoy welcome drinks and canapés before exploring a variety of activities taking place throughout the afternoon, to the backdrop of live music which will be performed from 1.30-4pm.
A range of interactive experiences will be available, including a sporting activity session in the lounge, featuring bowls and cricket. Guests can also enjoy a hand massage session, take part in a tiny tablet interactive activity or join a creative flower-making workshop. The Roving Artist will also be on hand, offering silhouette portraits for guests to enjoy.
After the ceremonial ribbon cutting announcing the home officially open, visitors will have the opportunity to find out exactly what life is like at Bailey Lodge. Attendees can take a tour around the care home, including the cinema, hair and beauty salon and pub, and meet the team and chat to Home Manager Abhilash Gopi.
Jennifer Jarvis, winner of Bailey Lodge’s recent Local Hero competition and founder of the Forget Me Not dementia café, will also be in attendance.
Guests attending the official opening can enjoy tasters of the delicious meals on the residents’ menu, specially prepared by the home’s talented head chef, along with additional food stations available throughout the home.
