A FREE Family Nature Adventure Supporting Biodiversity
This half term, step beneath the leafy canopy and discover a magical mini-beast world in the heart of Croydon.
Spring into Croydon is a FREE, drop-in nature experience designed to inspire children and families to grow, nurture and support local wildlife.
Running daily from 3rd – 4th and 6th – 10th April, the programme blends playful storytelling with practical environmental action.
This event is free to attend, no booking needed, just turn up on the day of your choice!
What to Expect:
Beneath a playful leafy canopy, visitors will be welcomed into a miniature world where storytelling, creativity and hands-on activities bring nature to life.
Families can meet our special characters Gordon Rams-bee, Ladle-bug and Paul Holly-worm, Together, they are nature-loving kitchen pioneers and soil champions on a mission to show just how much worms, bees and their underground friends do to help plants, trees, herbs, and gardens flourish.
Through storytelling and interactive moments families will discover:
- The vital role insects and pollinators play in Croydon
- How biodiversity supports our urban environment
- Simple things we can all do at home to help wildlife thrive.
Daily workshop sessions:
3rd-4th April – Herb Planting
Plant your own herbs to take home and grow. Fresh flavour for your meals and food for pollinators when they flower.
6th April – DIY Bug Hotels
Create mini habitats that provide shelter for beneficial insects and support biodiversity at home.
7th April – Plantable Seed Paper Cards
Make your own seed-infused paper creation and grow wildflowers that help Croydon bloom.
8th April – DIY Bug Hotels
