Do It Again Dan are an exciting 13-piece Worcestershire-based band, famous for bringing the captivating jazz/rock/funk music of Steely Dan to audiences around the Midlands. Steely Dan is famous for the genre it created of a glossy blend of rock, jazz, R&B, and blues, filled with sophisticated chord changes, silky guitar solos, and grooves that feel effortless even though they are anything but to play. Formed in the early 1970s by songwriter-singer Donald Fagen and guitarist Walter Becker, the band was the epitome of precision, crafted sound and wit, creating songs that sound smooth on the surface but often sly, cynical, and surprisingly dark underneath. Fagen’s conversational vocals deliver lines that sound laid-back until you realize they’re cutting deep, often poking fun at American excess, moral decay, or the absurdity of cool itself.
Do It Again Dan embody the spirit of Steely Dan, performing their own arrangements based on live recordings and studio albums such as Aja, Gaucho, The Royal Scam and The Night Fly.
