Bury care home invites community to spring open day

A care home in Bury St Edmunds is opening its doors to the community for an afternoon of entertainment and homemade treats.

On Wednesday 1st April from 2pm–4.30pm, Care UK’s Glastonbury Court will host a relaxed open afternoon where local families are invited to enjoy a variety of activities alongside residents.

Children will be able to follow the clues on an exciting Easter egg hunt and participate in Easter bonnet competition, with the winning entry being judged by residents.

Elsewhere, residents and visitors can get creative together with arts and crafts activities. A professional magician will also be on hand to entertain guests with a selection of tricks, and there will also be a Punch & Judy puppet show for children.

Visitors to the Glastonbury Road home will be able to sample a range of homemade refreshments and cakes freshly prepared by the talented chefs.

Throughout the afternoon, there will be the opportunity to meet the team and tour the home’s facilities, including the cinema, pub and recently opened Edmund Suite.

Ana Mihai, Home Manager at Glastonbury Court, said: “Following our recent 10th birthday celebrations, we’re really looking forward to welcoming the community to the home for a fun and relaxed afternoon.

“Events like this are a lovely way to bring people together and give visitors a chance to see what life is like here at Glastonbury Court by meeting the team and spending time with residents while enjoying a few fun activities.”
