Kazakhstan is a huge country with terrain ranging from flatlands, steppes, taigas, rock-canyons, hills, deltas and snow capped mountains to deserts. It is host to a fascinating selection of rare plant and animal species, in particular a wide variety of birds. It has suffered badly from exploitation by its neighbour, Russia. While this presentation follows a bird watching holiday it will provide an insight into this fascinating country.
