Great Oakley is not a big village, but it has a wonderful variety of over 15 gardens and community spaces opening to the public, this time for a full weekend. From secret walled gardens in the conservation area to country gardens with farmland and sea views, the village is full of surprises. Situated a short drive from either Harwich or Clacton, easily accessible from the A120, and on National Cycle Route 51, Great Oakley Open Gardens is the perfect summer weekend destination! Homemade refreshments will be available at several venues, including ploughmans lunches at the church on both days. Plants and gardening books for sale, and a Grand Raffle.
Admission is by programme/map, available in advance from the Maybush Pub, and any of the gardens on the day. In aid of our historic All Saints Church.
Park on the road throughout the village, or at the church CO12 5BL.
