The Dinosaur Sculptures of Crystal Palace
The World's first dinosaur models, created in the 1850s, represented the cutting edge of our knowledge of these ancient creatures and maritime reptiles. Palaeontologists, Mary Anning and Gideon Mantell, found old fossil bones, and using their imagination, created the reconstructions. These will be compared to how today's scientists think, but even after 170 years, with all our technological advances, we still can't be sure.
