2026 Guitar Festival & Summer School - Cheltenham
A residential guitar festival & summer school held every year in August, this year in the beautiful spa town of Cheltenham. The event is truly multi-stylistic with concerts and courses in classical and flamenco guitar and contemporary styles like blues, jazz and acoustic.
Our excellent 4-day long classical guitar course features internationally renowned artists Xuefei Yang and Spanish guitarist Francisco Bernier as well as Francisco Correa, Tom Kerstens and brilliant young guitarists from IGF's Young Artist Platform including Eva Schockmel, Maryna Vosmirova and the Fika and Rhossili Duos.
The classical guitar course includes masterclasses, individual and ensemble tuition, guitar orchestra, technique classes, workshops and lectures. It culminates in a student concert on the final day.
Scholarship places are available to enable talented younger players to join the classical course. The deadline for scholarship applications is 24 May 2026.
Alongside the classical programme we run some fantastic 5-day long contemporary guitar courses - Blues & Country | Groove | Vintage Electric Blues | Acoustic | Rock & Blues Foundations | Jazz | Guitar for Singer-Songwriters.
