Chelsworth Open Gardens is thought to be original Open Gardens Day - now in its 57th year. We also think its one of the best!!
This year there will be 26 gardens open and because Chelsworth is a tiny village, all are within a short stroll of one another. There are huge gardens and tiny ones, formal and wild, new and old -truly something for everyone. There will also be two gardens selling refreshments and the Peacock Inn will be open all day with a hog roast in the garden. Parking is free and there are places to picnic, or to walk alongside the river or in the woodland. Additional entertainments include a vintage tractor run passing through the village (11am); Morris Dancing on the green with Steampunk Morris, flowers and organ music in the church and live music at the pub plus composting demonstrations! A selection of stalls including specialist plant stalls will be situated in the centre of the village.
All of this combined with the beauty of Chelsworth, which is often said to be one of the prettiest villages in Suffolk, and you have the makings of a perfect day out.
Do come to visit us - we would love to see you!
