The Lady who raced a Spitfire, Martlesham Heath Aviation Society

Patrick Peal MBE, DL, brings us the fascinating story of Lettice Curtis, a pioneering aviator and flight test engineer, for a Martlesham Heath Aviation Society monthly meeting.
As a member of the Air Transport Auxiliary, she was one of the many unsung heroes during the Second World War who made many significant contributions in support of the war effort. Post War she became the first women to race a Spitfire IX, setting an international women's flight record.
