The Spirit of Innovation - the Story of breaking the Electric Powered Aircraft World Record is the title of the November 6th 2026 Meeting of The Martlesham Heath Aviation Society.
Phill O'Dell, former Rolls Royce Test Pilot bring us an insight into his life across multiple aspects of military and commercial aircraft, through his role as a Test Pilot, then Director of Flight Operations, at Rolls-Royce, with a focus on the breadth of technical and human challenges to design and deliver the pioneering all-electric aircraft The Spirit of Innovation which became the world speed record holder for an all-electric flight, as well as becoming the world's fastest all-electric vehicle.

The talks starts at 7:30 p.m., and the evening usually finished by 10:00pm.Admission is £5 for non-members, £3 for Society Members.
