Everyone is welcome to Fair Green's annual Brocante, where you'll find 60 or more stalls selling vintage, antiques and quirky objects. Public admission is free, there's free parking and toilets on site (including one easy-access). The Green is flat and the grass is kept short, so it's reasonably accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs.
Because it's a free event, you can just come along to browse the stalls with no sense of obligation. Some stallholders are professional antiques dealers, and others are simply amateurs happily selling vintage goods.
The Fair is part of the Fair Green Neighbourhood Association's fundraising, and we provide ample refreshments, with home-made cakes, filled baguettes, tea and coffee, and cold drinks. Bacon baps for the early risers, and there's an ice-cream van. We have a marquee for customers to sit and enjoy their snacks.
We have an excellent Fair Green fish & chip shop, there's the Angel Cafe for a sit-down lunch both indoors and outdoors, and there's The Cock pub, all open to welcome you. While you relax, the children will be discovering the Fair Green play area, which caters for all ages.
The money we raise is to pay for Fair Green - privately-owned land - and this means the grass cutting, tree pruning, maintenance of the car parking areas, the roads around the green, the children's play area, the petanque pitch, and even the emptying of the dog-poo bins. All of this we pay for by our own efforts.
