Beginner's basketry workshop with Woven Woodland
Join us at The Happy River in Wareham, where we will embrace the practical beauty of basketry.
Over the course of the workshop, you’ll learn about the properties of willow, how to prepare and handle the materials, and traditional weaving patterns used in basketry and sculptural forms.
This basket consists of a rectangular polish base with the addition of leather or driftwood handles.
No prior experience is needed, just bring your curiosity and a pair of willing hands. All materials and tools are provided.
There will be drinks and snacks, but do bring a pack lunch - weaving is hungry work!
Our Event Policy
We know that plans can sometimes change, and while Happy River events are generally non-refundable, we do look at each situation with care. In some cases, we may be able to transfer your booking to another event — it just depends on the circumstances.
If, for any reason, we ever need to cancel an event ourselves, you’ll receive a full refund.
