Jacobite Chest

Join us to explore revolutionary Jacobite medicines

Join us at the Physicians’ Gallery on the last Wednesday of every month at 12.30pm for a curator-led talk exploring some of the objects on display in our gallery.

Our topic for this talk is our Jacobite medicine chest. This chest, which contains 147 different medicines, was said to have been used at the Battle of Culloden. Its owner was a prominent Jacobite doctor and Physician-in-Chief to Bonnie Prince Charlie.
