Free Coffee Recital - All Saints Church Orpington
We are very excited to welcome Emma Sandford (Horn) accompanied by Joan Taylor (Piano) to our free Coffee Recital on 15 August 2026. Tea and Coffee will be served from 11.00 am and the Recital starts at 12 noon. All Saints Church is a fully-accessible venue and has its own car park.
We are delighted that Emma has shared her programme with us: Alla Caccia (Allan Abbott), Four Seasonal Nocturnes (Roderick Elms), Reverie op.24 (Alexandre Glasunov) and York Bowen Horn Sonata op. 101. Below is a snippet of Emma's biography, we are leaving the rest for the programme on the door. Joan is well-known to these Recitals and needs no introduction.
Emma is an 18-year-old horn player from Hayes in Bromley. She has been playing the horn for nine years and has been taught by Richard Steggall for eight of those years. Emma was Principal Horn of the National Youth Orchestra in 2025-2026 and has been part of the NYO since 2023. As well as this, she has played as Principal Horn in the South London Youth Orchestra (2022-2025), the Bromley Youth Symphony Orchestra (2022-2024) and the Junior Guildhall Symphony Orchestra (2024-2026). Emma won the Rotary Trotman competition in Bromley in 2024, competed in the Lutine prize and Junior Guildhall, becoming a finalist two years in a row (2025 and 2026).
