A relaxed, supportive women's navigation course for beginners. The course is based in the Peak District and is accessible by public transport. Small, friendly group and lots of outdoor practice over 2 days.
What's included
2 days of tuition by a NNAS qualified tutor and Mountain Leader with many years of experience and a passion for teaching map reading skills.
What to bring
Walking boots or shoes with good tread, packed lunch, water, waterproofs, warm hat and gloves and / or sun hat. Map and compass - can be borrowed.
Meeting point
Main Road Hathersage. Meet in the small square opposite the petrol station and next to the public toilet. Parking in pay and display car park on Oddfellows Road, S32 1DU. Hathersage train station 5 minutes walk away.
Good to know
The course is run over two days and covers up to 5 miles each day at a leisurely pace with lots of stops to consult the map. Any ascents will be taken at a pace to suit the group. You need to be reasonably fit to enjoy the course and happy to be outdoors for full days.
