Bon appétit! Nuneaton care home to host food festival for local commun
With festival season officially under way, a care home in Nuneaton is welcoming the community for a fun-filled day of food and celebration.
On Saturday 8th August from 2pm-5pm, Care UK’s Holly Grange, on Tuttle Hill, will open it's doors to families and neighbours for a food festival, inviting guests to tuck in and celebrate the nation’s shared love of great cuisine, community and connection.
Visitors to the home can look forward to a mini buffet, including bangers and mash and cheese and potato pie, while tapping their toes to live entertainment by local performers Back to 50’s.
The event is part of the ‘A Taste of Home’ initiative, which will see all Care UK homes host foodie-themed celebrations and share what life in a care home is really like.
Each festival will showcase sustainable, community-focused initiatives while celebrating the diversity and creativity within the homes, from residents’ favourite recipes and traditional dishes to seasonal menus featuring locally sourced ingredients.
Katie Malsher, Home Manager at Holly Grange, said: “Our food festival offers a wonderful opportunity for residents to rediscover their favourite childhood traditions and recipes and share them with the local community.
“The day not only promises a lot of laughter, but it is also an excellent way for residents to meet and mingle with lots of new faces – and some familiar ones. We can’t wait to welcome everyone through the doors.”

Each home offers full-time residential and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care. The homes incorporate plenty of space for hobby and leisure activities, while the layout of the buildings are configured into a series of individual suites, each having a dedicated lounge/dining room to facilitate the creation of close-knit communities.
