The West Wycombe Chamber Music Festival at Hambleden

The West Wycombe Chamber Music Festival is now in its 16th year and continues to attract support from audiences and musicians. The Guardian newspaper hailed the recent 2021 Festival as “One of the top ten classical music events of the year”. This year Lawrence Power, the Festival’s founder and Artistic Director has created a fabulous musical feast, unlike anything one could experience elsewhere. It is based on the theme of ‘Time’.
The five Festival concerts span five centuries. They will be performed by some of the finest musicians in the world of chamber music today.

Lawrence comments:
“In this year’s five concerts we will be exploring the idea of “TIME”. I never cease to be amazed by howdeeply music and time are intertwined and it’s inspiring to remember that in Ancient Greece astronomy, music, maths and physics were all equally studied. The Quadrivium as it was known brought these four disciplines together with equal significance in an attempt to understand the mysteries of the universe. Music unfolds in time and time is made tangible through music.”
All the concerts are performed in the beautiful Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Hambleden. Patrons are strongly advised t
