Chippenham Film Festival returns to Reel Cinema Chippenham from Tuesday 8th to Sunday 13th September 2026, bringing five specially chosen films to the big screen across one week, with live introductions from the Chippenham Film Club.
This year's festival includes an exclusive live Q&A with Director Rob Petit, following the Thursday 10th September screening of his acclaimed documentary Underland, described as a “cinematic voyage beneath the surface of the Earth”. This will be hosted by Nick Freand Jones, Producer of Moviedrome, and Mark Kermode's Secrets of Cinema.
• Tuesday 8th September, 7.30pm – I'm Still Here (15), directed by Walter Salles. Winner of the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film.
• Thursday 10th September, 7.30pm – Underland (12), directed by Rob Petit, followed by an exclusive live Q&A with the Director, hosted by Nick Freand Jones.
• Saturday 12th September, 4.00pm – Urchin (15), directed by Harris Dickinson, screened in partnership with Doorway Wiltshire.
• Saturday 12th September, 6.30pm – Pillion (18), directed by Harry Lighton, starring Harry Melling and Alexander Skarsgård.
• Sunday 13th September, 6.30pm – Amélie (15), directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet.
A new addition to the programme for this year is a vinyl listening night at the Old Road Tavern, on – unsurprisingly – Old Road, Chippenham, Wednesday 9th September. This will be a relaxed evening for film and music lovers to bring along their favourite soundtrack, score or film-related record, put them on the turntable and swap stories over a drink. This will take place in the ‘Tavern’s Barn.
The festival will close with a wrap party following the final film screening on Sunday 13th. Festival-pass holders and everyone attending the closing screening are warmly invited to join the organisers for the celebration, which will take place at Prince of Wales Micropub on Station Hill, Chippenham, starting at 8pm.
