12 Variations on a Theme from Handel's See the conquering Hero
Sonata no.3 Op. 69 in A major
This is the first part of a festival celebrating the life of Beethoven (1770-1827) which features all his works for cello and piano. The sonatas run chronologically with the variations interspersed at strategic points. The talk will put the works in historical and cultural context.
