A care home in Shrewsbury will be marching to the beat of its own drum as it opens its doors to the community for a carnival extravaganza.
On Monday 31st August from 2.30pm, Care UK’s Oxbow Manor is inviting people to celebrate culture, unity and love at its own version of Notting Hill Carnival.
There will be live music from Sunshine Steel Band and carnival dancers are sure to get everyone moving, with a Caribbean street food-themed menu prepared by the home’s head chef.
Guests will also have the chance to meet the Oteley Road home’s friendly team, chat with Home Manager Michelle Maiden and take a tour of the care home – which boasts a cinema, pub and hair and beauty salon.
Michelle said: “We strive to play an active role in our community, which is why we’re thrilled to be welcoming locals to our carnival extravaganza.
“The event will offer an excellent opportunity for everyone to get their dancing shoes on and feel the beat of the music, as well as showing visitors what life is like at Oxbow Manor.
“We’re looking forward to hosting the local community for what we expect to be an exciting day of music and dancing for all ages!”
