Heritage Open Day: Fordwich Town Hall is an ancient medieval town hall owned and managed by Fordwich United Charities. Run entirely by Volunteers we love having visitors come and explore the old court room, jail and crane house and enjoy a roam in the beautiful garden. Trustees and Custodians are pleased to welcome visitors to this beautiful ancient town hall situated next to the river Stour. Dating from 1544, this tiny Town Hall comprises a Main Hall once used as a court room, an even smaller jury room, a jail, an undercroft and a crane house. The beautifully planted garden allows visitors to quietly sit and enjoy the tranquil setting, which served Canterbury a thousand years ago during the building of The Canterbury Cathedral.
We will not accept large groups during Heritage Open Days. Please book separately.
