Heritage Open Day: Quakers are known to have been worshipping in the Malvern area since the 1850s, and maybe earlier! Come to the Meeting House to read stories of local Quakers and trace the history of Quaker worship and activism in west Worcestershire and beyond. Malvern Quakers are known to have been worshipping in the Malvern area since 1858, and were active in Coalbrookdale and other industrial locations in the West Midlands for many decades before that. Malvern Friends came under the influence of Meetings in Hereford and Worcester as well as Friends in Evesham, Tewksbury and Leominster. There are records of early Quakers meeting with George fox (one of the founding Quakers) in Worcester in 1656.
