Heritage Open Day: The Cutbush & Corrall Charity Almshouses - Serving the Maidstone Community for Over 160 Years The Cutbush and Corrall Almshouses on College Road are a distinctive group of buildings constructed in the early twentieth century to provide affordable housing for older people in Maidstone who are in need. The almshouses are recognised for their architectural and historic significance and are Grade II listed.
Designed in a picturesque Gothic Revival style, the almshouses are arranged around a courtyard in three separate ranges. They are built from Kentish ragstone with tiled roofs and feature decorative gables, clustered chimney stacks, stone finials, and traditional mullioned windows.
