Heritage Open Day: Join us at the Lizard Wireless Station to celebrate Marconi and the dawn of wireless communication. We're offering free tours, radio demonstrations, refreshments and family activities.. On the edge of Housel Bay, not far from mainland Britain’s most southerly point, sits the Lizard Wireless Station. Go inside and it’s as if you have stepped back in time to 1901 and the dawn of long distance radio telegraphy. Here in the world’s oldest surviving ship-to-shore station you’ll discover the story of Marconi who, through pioneering experiments, put these huts at the centre of a technology that changed the world for ever.
We’ll be open Sunday 13the September 12-3pm.
