Holy Trinity, Cowes, Isle of Wight
Heritage Open Day: Grade 11 Listed Church Holy Trinity, Cowes is a Church of England parish church situated above the seafront at Cowes, Isle of Wight. Consecrated in 1832 as a place of worship on Cowes foreshore for sailors and seafarers, it overlooks the Solent and the Royal Yacht Squadron. The church was built at the expense of Mrs Sarah Goodwin and designed by Benjamin Bramble of Portsmouth. Historic listing information records its stock-brick construction, tiled roof, five-bay nave, buttresses and finials, west tower with crenelated parapet, apsidal-ended chancel added in 1862, wooden west gallery supported on Tuscan columns, and memorial tablets connected with distinguished Royal Yacht Squadron figures. It is Grade II listed for its architectural and historic interest.
