Heritage Open Day: Talks on the current project to conserve the paintings in the nave of St Jude on the Hill.
Conservators will show visitors the progress made to date, and explain materials and techniques being used.
Arts and crafts for young visitors. Conservation of the wall painting by Walter Starmer has been ongoing since March this year at St Jude on the Hill.
Two interns from Pakistan, supported by the Commonwealth Heritage Forum, are working with a team from Cliveden Conservation to clean and stabilise 57 wall paintings around the nave.
Now half-way through the project, conservators can share information about the original materials and painting techniques used by Starmer, as well as the conservation techniques used to return them to (close to) their original vibrancy.
