Walking Wycombe with Willie - Lawbreakers and Lawmen
Heritage Open Day: Step back in time and join us for a free heritage walk exploring the fascinating history of law-breaking, crime and policing in High Wycombe. Meet at the We Make Wycombe Hub beside the Little Market House on the High Street. The Walk will finish at Penn Mill this guided walk uncovers stories of the 1830 Machine Breakers Riots, a notorious murder at Reddy House on Oxford Road, and a local newsagent who found himself on the wrong side of the law.
Along the route, we'll pass through Frogmoor, go past High Wycombe Police Station and the Magistrates' Court, where we'll explore the criminal justice system and learn how magistrates deal with around 85% of criminal cases in England and Wales.
