North Devon Maritime Museum Shipyard Trail Launch
Heritage Open Day: Launch of Shipyard Trail and Shipyard Exhibition North Devon Maritime Museum Appledore Torridge Shipyard Trail North Devon Maritime Museum
Along the east bank of the River Torridge the South West Coast Path between Appledore and Bideford passes the sites of historic and active ship yards. Locally known as the ship yard path this was used by workers on their way to and from work in the yards. The walk takes about 1½ – 2 hours. The accompanying website contains information about the different yards history and ships launched.
On Saturday 19 September the trail will be launched with groups setting off from North Devon Maritime Museum, Appledore and Pannier Pantry, Bideford.
