Church of Saint Peter, Swinton
Heritage Open Day: Historic listed church open with exhibition of vestments, plate, and other treasures. Refreshments and lavatories available. Saint Peter's Church is a Grade Two * listed building in the heart of Swinton in the City of Salford. It is just over 150 years old and the work of the eminent Victorian architect, G. E. Street. It stands in a very prominent position opposite the Town Hall, near Swinton Station, and on many bus routes. It continues in use for worship each day and has a vibrant and busy programme of services and other activities. On the Friday when the church is open especially for HODs through the day there will also be vestments and other church furnishings and fittings which are usually kept away from view on display.
