A tour of some of the ordinary people buried in Linthorpe Cemetery and their trades and occupations

Heritage Open Day: This talk and walk will take place for the first time this year. Ordinary men and women from Middlesbrough and their occupations and trades will be explained in the walk and talk. Many thousands of ordinary men and women from Middlesbrough and from all walks of life have been buried in the cemetery since 1869. Prior to this part of the site was used by the Quakers from the 17th century. This new talk by Local Historian and Member of the Friends Group, Ian Stubbs will explore in detail a handful of these and examine their occupations and trades, their lives, families and homes as well. The talk will be followed by a walk to tour the site and see their resting places and memorials. There will be refreshments following the walk with donations towards the work of the Friends Group.
