Visit Bore Place this October half term for a special bat evening aimed at families with younger bat enthusiasts!
Scheduled a little earlier than our usual night walks so you're home in time for bed (or not too late!), join us for an after-dark adventure hunting for bats.
Guided by one of our Rangers, you'll learn a little bit about bats and then head off on a short route around the estate to spot them flying around.
Have you ever used a bat detector? This is your chance! Using a special piece of equipment, you'll be able to listen in to our resident bats flying overhead as they leave their roosts for the evening and fly out to catch insects.
Of course we hope to find lots of bats (and will do our best!), but please bear in mind that we can't control the wildlife and occasionally we don't find anything. We'll also keep our eyes peeled and hope to spot some other wildlife – possibly deer or hares – and we might even hear owls!
Pop a torch in your pocket!
Tickets must be pre-booked on our website.
