Jayne Burton - Cyanotype Prints
Jayne is a textile designer with a real passion for fabrics both vintage and new, designing and printing her own fabrics. She applies the ancient Japanese art of Shibori resist dyeing, Cyanotype printing, printing fabric and paper utilizing hand carved Indian wooden printing blocks as well as marbling on both fabric and paper. She designs, dyes, prints, paints and produce textiles and papers using dyes and paints.
Her main interest lies in detail and textural images and she tries to capture the unusual that can be found in the beauty of our natural surroundings. The sea and coastal images along with trees are the inspiration behind her textile design and fabric printing. Jayne makes lampshades, bags, scarves and homewares and run workshops teaching lampshade making, wood block printing, shibori and cyanotypes. There is an excellent cafe next door with free parking and access for all.
