Rough Justice by Terence Frisby - St Michael's ADS
Rough Justice by Terence Frisby - is an adroitly written courtroom drama. Following the postponement of this play in Spring 2020 on account of the pandemic, St Michael's ADS bring it back as their late Summer production. It's an adroitly written courtroom drama. A definite contrast to our regular annual pantomime, but nonetheless hugely entertaining, this is a powerful piece of thought-provoking drama, which will have you waiting with bated breath for the verdict - but will it agree with your own? Be prepared to be enthralled.
The story follows the trial of James Highwood - a television commentator and host of a widely watched TV programme called “British Justice?” - on the stand at the Old Bailey for the murder of his severely handicapped child. He is conducting his own defence.
This play was seen in London's West End in 1994, with Diana Quick and Martin Shaw, and the Sunday Express quoted his writing is sharp, and the courtroom interchanges positively crackle. St Michael's ADS aim to rise to the challenge. Don't miss it.
