Open Doors and Food Fair at Llanfyllin Workhouse

A Heritage Open Day and Food Fair at Llanfyllin's historic Workhouse, Y Dolydd: set in glorious countryside beside the A490 on the way to Lake Vyrnwy. It’s a chance to see one of Britain's best preserved Victorian workhouses, under restoration by a community trust and home to a range of creative enterprises. The Food Fair will showcase the best in artisan food and drink from Wales and the borders, with a wide range of produce and street food available to sample or take home. Live entertainment will include performances by harpist Cadi Davies; the dynamic Vivace Choir, Sonya, Teulu and Club Mambo as well as poetry readings. Twelve local artists will be represented at an exhibition of paintings, sculptures, photographs and glass in Oriel y Dolydd. Open studios will feature sculpture, print making, leather work and model railway building. A ‘Before and After’ presentation will describe the building’s ongoing restoration. There will be history tours and displays all through the day and children can try on workhouse costumes.
Open 10.00 – 5.00. Free entry and parking: donations very welcome to support the continuing restoration.
Open 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., admission free.
