To mark the commemoration of the 100th year since the start of WW1, the Memo has programmed a series of events and film screenings, including a special free admission screening of Hedd Wyn. S4C’s Hedd Wyn was the first Welsh film to receive an Oscar nomination. Scripted by poet Alan Llwyd, it tells the tragic story of Ellis Evans, a poet from a farming family in Trawsfynydd, North Wales who competes for the most coveted prize of all in Welsh Poetry – that of the chair of the National Eisteddfod
